Overview
Dyslexia Evaluation (dyslexiaevaluation.com) provides an online dyslexia screening tool designed for children in grades K-5. By using our website or purchasing a screening, you agree to these terms of service.
Not Medical Advice
Important Disclaimer
Dyslexia Evaluation is a screening tool, not a diagnostic service. The results provided by this screening do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. This screening does not replace evaluation by a licensed psychologist, neuropsychologist, or educational specialist. Always consult a qualified professional before making decisions about your child's education or healthcare.
Our screening checks for patterns commonly associated with dyslexia in areas such as phonemic awareness, rapid naming, and nonsense word decoding. The results are intended to help you decide whether to pursue a formal evaluation with a licensed professional. Only a qualified specialist can diagnose dyslexia.
You should not rely solely on the results of this screening to make educational, medical, or therapeutic decisions for your child.
Use of Service
- You must be at least 18 years of age to purchase a screening.
- Each screening purchase is intended for one child. The assessment is calibrated to the grade level you select and the responses provided during the session.
- Results are delivered via email to the address you provide at the time of purchase, including a detailed PDF report.
- You are responsible for ensuring that the screening is administered in a quiet environment with a working microphone, as described in the assessment instructions.
Parental Consent and Voice Recordings
By purchasing and initiating a screening, you represent that you are the parent or legal guardian of the child being screened and that you consent, on that child's behalf, to the collection and processing described below. This consent is obtained through the monetary-transaction method permitted under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA, 16 CFR Part 312).
What we collect: While the screening is in progress, the microphone on your device records your child reading letters, sounds, and short passages aloud. These recordings are transmitted to our voice recognition software, which scores each response against the item presented.
Default handling: You grant us a limited license to process these recordings in memory for the purpose of scoring the screening and generating your report. Recordings are not saved on our servers by default.
Optional retention for improving the screening: At the start of the screening, we ask a single yes/no question: whether you'd like to help improve the screening for other kids. If you answer yes, you additionally grant us a limited license to retain the recordings and use them to improve our voice recognition and assessment technology. Retained recordings are stored under an internal identifier rather than your name or email address. You can revoke this permission at any time by emailing [email protected], after which we will delete any retained recordings associated with your account.
We do not sell voice recordings, do not share them with advertisers, and do not use them for any purpose other than the two described here. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Payment and Refunds
The screening is available for a one-time fee of $79, processed securely via Stripe. No subscription or recurring charges are involved.
Refund policy: If you have not started the assessment, you may request a full refund within 30 days of purchase by contacting [email protected]. Once an assessment has been started or completed, refunds are not available, as the screening resources and analysis have been consumed.

All content, design, code, assessment materials, and reports on dyslexiaevaluation.com are owned by Dyslexia Evaluation and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any materials on this site without our express written permission.
